Ridge walking is dangerous.
One of my favourite past times is walking with our two border collies .They love to run ahead of us.
When we go to the lake district, we like nothing better than find a good trail to follow up the mountain .The dogs run on ahead, while we steadily climb, one step at a time till we reach the summit.
Our son loves ridge walking, he loves the thrill of walking on rocks, a shear drop on either side, dangerous. People have been blown off in bad weather. No thank you.
Our walk with God can be the same.
Some times we run ahead of Him, not listening for His voice. Other times we walk without His guidance.
Ridge walking is dangerous, but as my son says, just make sure the rock doesn't move, look straight ahead putting one foot in front of the other, don’t look left or right and don’t turn around and go back. Once you have started across the ridge there is no going back.
So live one step at a time, don’t try and look too far into the future, don’t look back into the past. Just go steady, take one step at a time and you will get there.
Jesus said “ I am the way, the truth and the life”.
